This private house design project harmoniously blends Japanese and Mid-Century Modern styles. The design's goal was to create a functional, warm, and serene home that combines the clean, geometric, and functional lines of 20th-century American design with the simplicity, natural materials, and sense of calm from Japanese aesthetics.

The design is characterized by open and flowing spaces with extensive use of wood and horizontal and vertical lines that define the area. The connection between the interior and exterior was emphasized through large openings that frame the natural scenery and blur the boundaries between the house and the garden—an approach that is characteristic of both styles.

A sunken seating area with built-in storage allowed for a low and open sightline. Some of the windows were adjusted accordingly, and are lower than usual, creating a different way of viewing the space and the outdoor.

The design concept was based on a soft, natural, and monochromatic color palette, which served as a foundation for minimalistic furniture and design elements, giving the house a feeling of cleanliness and tranquility. The material selection focused on natural materials such as wood, stone, and textiles.

This project demonstrates how different influences can be harmoniously combined and tailored to the homeowners' needs.
